August 18, 2025 – The recent statements of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, according to which Ukraine could quickly end the conflict by renouncing Crimea and its prospect of NATO membership, have reopened the international debate on the path toward peace.

The United States continues to play a decisive role in shaping scenarios and prospects for dialogue, while Europe reiterates the need to guarantee Ukraine’s security and sovereignty.

Alongside these positions, it has become clear that China, as a leading economic and diplomatic power, can provide an essential contribution to achieving stability, through instruments of mediation and cooperation that place development and the well-being of peoples at the center.

The World Organization of States – International Parliament for Safety and Peace (WOS-IPSP) emphasizes that lasting peace cannot be the result of a single vision, but requires the convergence of the world’s major powers – the United States, China, the European Union, and Russia – united in the shared responsibility of reducing tensions and fostering dialogue.

Only a multilateral approach, based on mutual respect and the pursuit of fair and balanced solutions, can make it possible to build a sustainable peace and ensure international stability.
