In 2025, it is estimated that over 305 million people are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance due to crises driven by armed conflicts and climate change. Wars in Sudan, Gaza, and Ukraine have caused massive population displacements and heavy civilian casualties. Food insecurity continues to rise, now affecting around 280 million people, while famine conditions are deteriorating in countries such as Sudan and Haiti.
At the same time, the planet is approaching the critical threshold of 1.5°C global warming, leading to increasingly severe natural disasters. Nearly 90 million people are currently living in high-risk climate areas and have already been forced to leave their homes.
In this context, the WOS-IPSP emphasizes the urgent need for strengthened global solidarity and affirms that international cooperation is the only viable path to address today’s humanitarian challenges. Our Organization will continue to promote initiatives and partnerships aimed at supporting vulnerable communities and ensuring that aid reaches those who need it most.
