Climate change has become one of the main drivers of global instability, affecting economies, increasing migratory pressure, and exacerbating social and geopolitical tensions. In the face of this shared challenge, international diplomacy is increasingly turning toward innovative forms of multilateral cooperation.

The World Organization of States – International Parliament for Safety and Peace (WOS-IPSP) welcomes new initiatives promoted by intergovernmental bodies aimed at strengthening dialogue mechanisms on climate change and the sustainable management of natural resources.

Recently, the UN Working Group on Environmental Emergencies proposed the creation of a Council for Climate Diplomacy, with the aim of mediating between countries affected by drought, desertification, or water-related conflicts. Although still under discussion, this proposal confirms that peace and security cannot be separated from environmental justice.

In line with its mission to promote global peace and cooperation among States, the WOS-IPSP reaffirms its commitment to supporting all diplomatic efforts aimed at protecting the planet, preventing environmental conflicts, and building a fair and sustainable future for all generations.

The climate is our common good. Only through diplomacy, dialogue, and solidarity can we face the challenges of tomorrow.
